WordPress/Web Developer (m/f/x)

Position: permanent
Start: August 2019
As a WordPress/Web Developer (m/f/x) you will work closely with the design team. You develop front-end prototypes and WordPress-based websites and ensure technical support. In our interdisciplinary team you will be the first "pure" web developer, although there are development skills (Frontend, Kirby, WordPress) in the design team. The designers are well trained in (agile) cooperation with external developers - even for complex web applications. Further developers in the team can follow. You therefore have the opportunity, but also the task, to make a special contribution and define a technology stack for think moto.


What you will do:
 
  • Technical frontend and backend architecture, programming and maintenance of dynamic websites and microsites based on WordPress (corporate websites, brand hubs, landing pages, product microsites, etc.)
  • Selection and development of suitable WordPress plug-ins and themes
  • Development of interactive prototypes and proof-of-concepts
  • Testing and quality assurance
  • Code and performance optimization for different output media and browsers
  • Implementation of even demanding layouts and UX patterns
  • Deployment /Installation of WordPress-based web sites on cloud hosting platforms
  • development of widgets/modules for frontend and backend in cooperation with UX designers
  • Your are an active team member in integrated design sprints 
  • You work in projects with international team colleagues and clients in German and English
 
 
Who you are:
 
  • Profound knowledge and practical experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL
  • At least 3 years programming experience
  • Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Media Technology or similar studies
  • Experience in the professional use of WordPress
  • Experience in using frameworks: jQuery, Symfony, Angular (you know your stack better than we do, so tell us about it!)
  • Experience in dealing with versioning systems (git)
  • Experience with cloud-based development, deployment and hosting platforms (e.g. Heroku, Platform.sh, AWS) is advantageous
  • Commitment to continuous optimisation of our team processes and technology stack
  • You appreciate good UX and usability and know what is important when implementing responsive layouts
  • You communicate in team and with customers in German and English
  • Desire for close collaboration with designers
  • Personal responsibility and quality awareness
  • You actively contribute your own ideas and suggestions, already in the conception phase of the project
  • Reliability, communication and organisational skills
